  • Courses offered for of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University(JNTU).

    The admission to the above courses is based on an entrance test conducted by the University. Regular classes are conducted in the evenings for these part time P.G. Programmes by utilizing the services of expert faculty members at SCDE, Masab Tank,Hyderabad - 28. Therefore the candidates seeking admission into these P.G. Programmes must be necessarily working in and around the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. Among the listed M.Tech. Programmes about ten to twelve are offered every year depending on the demand, with an intake of 30 candidates in each programme. These part - time P.G. Programmes are not offered under Distance Education Mode.

    Under the Distance Education Mode, the following Under - Graduate programmes are offered:

    1. B.Tech. (Civil Engineering)
    2. B.Tech. (Electrical & Electronics Engineering)
    3. B.Tech. (Mechanical Engineering )
    4. B.Tech. (Electronics & Communication Engg )
    5. B.Tech. (Computer Science & Engineering)

    These U. G. Programmes are planned for the benefit of a large majority of Diploma holders, who seek opportunities for academic advancement. To meet their academic aspiration, the University, for the first time in the country, started offering U.G. programmes in Engineering i.e., B.Tech. (Correspondence-Cum-Contact) Programmes in 1984. Admission to this 4 year B.Tech. (CCC) programme is made on the basis of merit rank obtained at the Entrance Test conducted by the University subject to rules of reservation in force. The candidate seeking admission into this B.Tech. ( CCC ) Programme should be a Diploma holder in the branch of Engineering concerned, and should be working in Andhra Pradesh. Students of other states are not eligible for B.Tech. ( CCC ) programmes under Distance Education Mode.

    To improve the quality of print - material sent to students, state-of- the-art DTP facility and a Digital copy printer have been added. The Computer centre of the School of Continuing & Distance Education ( SCDE) has been upgraded with the addition of Pentiums and Networking of the systems.

    Along with the constituent engineering colleges of the University located at Hyderabad, Anantapur & Kakinada, some private Engineering Colleges also have been serving as study centres for organizing contact programmes both for theory and laboratory courses.

    In tune with emerging trends in educational planning, the centre has been operating on a self supporting basis and has also succeeded in optimum utilization of available resources of the university in terms of buildings, laboratories, equipment and faculty available at our constituent colleges, which serve as contact centres. In addition, the funding from UGC, released specially for the centre has helped in equipping the centre with state - of - art computer, laser printing and multimedia facilities.

    The academic planning and implementation of programmes, like preparing, printing and proof- reading of lesson material, registration for courses, planning and monitoring contact programmes, conducting and processing of results of examination is undertaken by academic faculty comprising of Professors, Asst.Professors, Lecturers and Academic Advisors / Consultants and Computer Programmers / Operators. The Computer Centre is involved in the preparation of printouts, shortage and retrieval of student database and other related information.
